They say the apple is the fruit of paradise, and in our case, it’s absolutely true.
Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park is our particular Eden. Located in the heart of the Costa Brava, straddling the regions of Baix and Alt Empordà, it encompasses 8 municipalities with a total area of over 8,000 hectares.
This is our home, and it offers us a great variety of landscapes and unique elements; from the characteristic physiognomy of the Montgrí Massif, shaped like a reclining bishop; the underwater richness of the Medes Islands; the lushness of the Ter Plain; to its wetlands, to name just a few examples.
All the elements that make up this park shape us, build our identity, and firmly root us in our land. And they are found in the products we offer.
From the limestone and native species of the Montgrí Massif Castle, landscape companions to our fields.
The Argudell olive groves that spread like sculptures and intensely crown our dishes.
The sea salt that perfumes us, and the mild and benevolent climate gifted by the beaches and dunes that form the seafront just a few meters from our fields.
The fruits of the sea, with extraordinary and flavorful tastes, bestowed upon us by the Mediterranean.
The livestock that blends with the landscape, grazing or feeding on the farmhouses and family livestock farms in the area.
The wetlands and marshes formed by the interaction of the Ter, Daró, and marine currents. Bringing richness and life to the agricultural activity that surrounds them. And gifting us unique fauna; our most beloved neighbors. And exceptional products like the local rice.
And all of this is harvested in our fields, integrated into the agricultural plain of the park which, for many centuries, has been the pantry of the entire area. A space that harmoniously combines irrigated crops surrounding the backbone formed by the Ter river, and dryland crops concentrated on the slopes and hillsides of the massif. Vineyards and vegetable gardens. Olive groves and apple orchards.
This is our home. The one we love and the one that has defined us. And the one we want to preserve.
