Who are we?

We are the third generation of the family that cultivates apples in the Empordà. In 2016, after 4 years of research, we decided to market Mooma (Montgrí + Poma): the first Catalan cider. This is a fresh, completely natural, short-circuit, low-alcohol, and healthy drink. It is a USA cider.

Cider is made following a careful selection of apples, mixing according to the characteristics, maceration, press and fermentation. The cellar follows a careful process of control, transfer, clarification, filtration, gasification and, finally, bottling. Each of our ciders has a specific process that lasts from 6 to 12 months and varies every year. The causes of this variation are mainly linked to the time of harvesting apples. The spring and summer weather conditions, the insolation that affects the sugars, the soil that can change the production and the vigor, or the age and variety of the apple trees are some of the main aspects that must be taken into account.

We also make apple juice. We offer four different types: Gala, Pink Rosée, Fuji and Granny Smith. Each of these juices has its own personality to satisfy all tastes. Also, if you take a look at our online store you will also discover apple vinegar, jam and compote among other products.

Tradition, health and sustainability

More than 50 years of family experience in the field of fruit growing allow us to offer quality products derived from the apple. The apple contains antioxidants minerals, vitamins and polyphenols. This puts our products on the basis of a healthy and balanced diet. Mooma products are km-0 as the whole raw material comes from the previous plantations located in Palau-sator (Baix Empordà).

Agroalimentària Mas Saulot

Mas Saulot is where we make cider and juices. It has more than 20 hectares of apple trees. The family settled there six generations ago when Llorenç Vidal bought the land and the farm. The first apple trees were planted in 1962; before these lands had had other types of cultivation such as rice fields, very typical of the area.

Mas la Resclosa

This farm was incorporated in 2000, although our family cultivated it for dozens of years. It was the first in the Baix Empordà to produce apples. Its sandy soil and being on the river Ter gives us certain advantages in production. This is where we have part of our experimental farm of new varieties of cider apples.

Girona Fruits

Pere Frigola was the founder, manager and president of Girona Fruits. Being members of the only cooperative in Girona with a cooperative real operation allows us to manufacture and produce almost all year with the best raw material in the area from our plantations and our associates.
